Geriatrics has a long tradition in Germany. The current demographic trend towards an increasing number of older people with multiple chronic health problems requires a change, i.e., adaptation to the needs of older patients in all areas of our health care system. This work focuses on the following key issues: training and continuing education, changes in disease processes in old age, and necessary structural changes. The existing problems will be identified based on examples and subsequently discussed.
老年医学在德国有着悠久的传统。当前人口发展趋势是患有多种慢性健康问题的老年人数量不断增加，这就需要做出改变，即在我们医疗保健系统的各个领域适应老年患者的需求。这项工作聚焦于以下关键问题：培训与继续教育、老年疾病进程的变化以及必要的结构变革。将通过实例识别现存问题，随后进行讨论。
