[Bronchopulmonary dysplasia--a general overview].

The article reviews the etiology, pathogenesis and symptoms of bronchopulmonary dysplasia, at present one of the most important complications to prematurity and neonatal lung disease. The different alternatives and aspects of treatment are discussed, with emphasis on the problems of adequate growth and nutrition.
