Abstract

This article reviews the current technical advances and challenges in the fields of tissue engineering, molecular engineering, and regenerative medicine. Research in engineering 3D in vitro tissue models that capture in vivo tissue properties and cellular response to these in vitro tissue constructs are discussed in particular.
