The case histories of two patients with an extragonadal germ-cell tumour are discussed. One had a retroperitoneal embryonal carcinoma, and the other had a mediastinal choriocarcinoma-seminoma. The pathogenesis, symptomatology, diagnosis and treatment of these rare tumours are discussed in some detail.?
