[The assessment of the course of the wound process after surgical interventions on the soft tissues of the face and neck by indices of the free-radical oxidation of the peripheral blood].

Interventions in surgery on soft tissues of the face and neck cause a nonspecific response of the body, which mobilizes functioning of the enzymic antioxidative complex. Pyoinflammatory complications in the postoperative period are associated with impairment of the total antioxidative mechanism of the body. These data may be useful in the early diagnosis of complications and in the development of a pathogenetic strategy for the prevention and treatment of postoperative wounds.
