We studied the effects of one and five time administration of peptide morphogen of hydra (PMH) in a dose of 10 micrograms/kg on cell division and DNA-synthesis in corneal and tongue epithelium of white rats. PMH stimulated cell proliferation considerably. This was revealed in acceleration of mitosis, and in rising of quantity of DNA-synthesis nuclei in 1.5-2.1 time after a single injection. In 24 hours after the five time administration the number of DNA-synthesis nuclei increased 1.5 and 1.9 time in corneal and tongue epithelium, correspondingly. This data reflects the possible role of PMH in structural homeostasis regulation.
