To evaluate the effectiveness of conjunctivoplasty using an argon green laser in symptomatic patients with conjunctivochalasis (CCh).
Twenty-nine eyes of 18 patients with various grades of CCh were included in this study. All the patients, who were refractory to the conventional therapy, were treated using an argon green laser. The ocular symptoms and signs, including the CCh grade, the tear Ocular Surface Disease Index, the breakup time, the Schirmer test, and the abnormal ocular surface findings, were evaluated preoperatively and postoperatively.
The mean age of the patients was 69.1 ± 8.4 years. The grade of CCh in 25 eyes (86%) decreased at 6 months after the laser conjunctivoplasty. When the grade reduction rates were calculated, the reduction rates of grades 1, 2, and 3 were 100%, 69%, and 48%, respectively. Most of the patients showed a significant symptomatic improvement, and the Ocular Surface Disease Index scores decreased from 0.41 to 0.22 (P < 0.001). The breakup time increased from 9.1 to 10.2 (P = 0.007), but the Schirmer test results did not show any differences after the surgery (P = 0.257).
Conjunctivoplasty using an argon green laser is a simple and effective choice to treat symptomatic patients with CCh, especially in cases of mild-to-moderate grade CCh.
评估氩绿激光结膜成形术治疗结膜松弛症（CCh）患者的疗效。
本研究纳入了 18 例各种程度 CCh 患者的 29 只眼。所有对常规治疗无反应的患者均采用氩绿激光治疗。术前和术后评估眼部症状和体征，包括 CCh 分级、泪膜眼表疾病指数、泪膜破裂时间、Schirmer 试验和异常眼表表现。
患者平均年龄为 69.1±8.4 岁。25 只眼（86%）的 CCh 分级在激光结膜成形术后 6 个月时降低。当计算分级降低率时，1、2、3 级的降低率分别为 100%、69%和 48%。大多数患者的症状明显改善，眼表疾病指数评分从 0.41 降至 0.22（P<0.001）。泪膜破裂时间从 9.1 秒增加到 10.2 秒（P=0.007），但术后 Schirmer 试验结果无差异（P=0.257）。
氩绿激光结膜成形术是治疗 CCh 症状患者的一种简单有效的方法，尤其适用于轻中度 CCh 患者。
