EMS providers have raised the public's perception and acceptance of paramedic-level care. Both rural and urban EMS policy makers will continue to feel the financial pressure to maintain and upgrade EMS services. The issue of who pays for health care has captured the interest of all and will continue to be scrutinized like no other part of providing quality prehospital medicine.
