The cervical syndrome is described and the possibility of facial pain. Pathologic changes in the anatomical buildup of the cervical spine with its nerve and vascular systems may cause symptoms which may not be recognized for their relationship to the cervical spine. There are no anatomical nervous connections between the maxillofacial and the cervical region, and yet there is evidence of maxillofacial pain caused by cervical factors. The dentist must often answer questions of this nature. The therapy of cervical disease is difficult and requires knowledge, experience and intuition from the treating physician.
