TFIIS2-1, one of the two trypanosome homologues of transcription elongation factor TFIIS (TbTFIIS1, TbTFIIS2-1), with a PWWP domain in the N-terminus, has a possible association with the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (RPB1) and shares an essential function with TbTFIIS1 in the growth of Trypanosoma brucei. Here we report the resonance assignments of the protein backbone of the PWWP domain of TFIIS2-1 from T. brucei.
