Results of the epidemiological study concerning the influence of the air pollution and smoking on the lung cancer incidence in population from 26 cities of the USSR are presented. The analysis of data has shown that smoking and air pollution correlate with the lung cancer incidence. The correlation between air pollution and lung cancer incidence is more significant for men than for women since men have additional professional exposure and smoking habit is more typical of them.
