A 16-year-old girl experienced gradual abdominal distention over a period of three years. She was admitted for evaluation of suspected cirrhosis of the liver. Sonography and CT-scan were suggestive of a giant ovarian cystoma occupying a vast portion of the abdominal cavity. A mucinous cystadenoma weighing 17.5 kg was resected. The postoperative course was uneventful.
