This study examines the effects of the Swedish partial pension system, which has been in place for more than 10 years, on the pattern of work force participation among older workers. The findings suggest that implementation of the policy altered the pattern of work behavior among older men, but did not affect female labor force behavior. Changes in pension compensation rates appear to have affected several aspects of participation in the partial pension, including the number of participants and hours of work.
