Using radioactive microparticles of Sr85 the authors assessed the cardiac minute volume and blood flow through the medulla oblongata, cerebellum, subcortical portions and cerebral cortex in adult laboratory rats 20 hours after 8-hour exposure to high altitude hypoxia of 7000 m. The local blood supply is increased in all parts of the brain, in particular in the medulla oblongata and cerebellum.
