Restoration of the continuity of the proximal part of the gastrointestinal tract after complete or high gastric resection is facilitated by performing a two-step operation. This operation consists of an end to side anastomosis to the mobilized jejunal limb followed by the division of the afferent limb and Roux-en-Y jejunojejunostomy.
