The differential diagnosis of the non-thrombotic insufficiency of conducting veins is in general possible by anamnesis and clinical angiological examination, even if non-vascular diseases are taken into consideration. In other patients, particularly in isolated insufficiency of the conducting veins, in addition to this non-invasive and, if the occasion arises, invasive angiological methods must be used.
