Approach to care: psychosocial support.

This chapter discusses: identifying the need for risk reduction; assessing the need for psychological support; and various sociocultural, psychological, and grief-related issues. It specifically describes psychosocial reactions of AIDS patients. Furthermore, counseling stressors and factors are suggested. Finally, counseling issues specific to the HIV-positive/AIDS woman are discussed with suggested topics for follow-up counseling sessions listed.
