Two cases are described with traumatic ruptures of the cornea (after athletic and occupational injuries along the keratotomic incisions in 4 years and 5 months, respectively, after radial keratotomy for medium-severe myopia. The authors emphasize that patients should be warned of not only possible immediate and late postoperative complications, but also of the risk of corneal rupture in contusions of the eyeball that may occur in the occupational or communal setting.
