Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a common complication following spinal cord injury (SCI). Although DVT of the upper extremity is much less common than DVT of the lower extremities, the risk of pulmonary embolism following upper-extremity DVT should not be disregarded.
Case report.
A bilateral upper-extremity DVT developed in a 51-year-old woman with SCI (central cord syndrome) being followed in our rehabilitation clinic. Medical treatment resulted in improvement in the clinical status of the patient as well as the regression in the thrombus.
In patients with SCI, DVT should be kept in mind in the presence of pain and edema in the upper extremities, and prophylactic DVT treatment should be considered.
深静脉血栓形成（DVT）是脊髓损伤（SCI）后的常见并发症。尽管上肢DVT比下肢DVT少见得多，但上肢DVT后发生肺栓塞的风险不容忽视。
病例报告。
一名51岁患有SCI（中央脊髓综合征）的女性在我们的康复诊所就诊时发生了双侧上肢DVT。药物治疗使患者的临床状况得到改善，血栓也消退了。
对于SCI患者，上肢出现疼痛和水肿时应考虑DVT，应考虑进行预防性DVT治疗。
