This article is a pastoral counselor's response to a lengthy and unique, theory-driven, chaplain-Parkinson's patient relationship. The author reviews elements of clinical theory, in general, and Narrative Theory, in particular. The chaplain's use of Narrative is affirmed and strengths and limitations of this choice are noted. The benefits of a shared relationship between chaplaincy and pastoral counseling are explored.
