The Emberiza aureola (yellow-breasted bunting), Vulnerable (IUCN), is a Eurasian bird with very wide geographical range. The complete mitochondrial genome of E. aureola (16,800 bp in length) contained 37 genes (13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, and 22 tRNA genes) and a non-coding region (D-loop), which is similar to the typical mtDNA of vertebrates. All the protein-coding genes in E. aureola were distributed on the H-strand, except for the ND6 subunit gene and ten tRNA genes which were encoded on the L-strand.
黄胸鹀（易危，国际自然保护联盟）是一种分布范围极广的欧亚鸟类。黄胸鹀的完整线粒体基因组（长度为16,800 bp）包含37个基因（13个蛋白质编码基因、2个rRNA基因和22个tRNA基因）以及一个非编码区（D环），这与脊椎动物典型的线粒体DNA相似。黄胸鹀所有的蛋白质编码基因都分布在重链上，除了ND6亚基基因和10个在轻链上编码的tRNA基因。
