Out of 318 aortic valve replacements performed between July 1, 1984 and June 30, 1989, aneurysm of the ascending aorta was found in 17 cases. In 7 of these cases employment of conduit was required due to the dimension of the aneurysm. In 5 cases they performed Bentall procedure: aortic valve replacement combined with conduit of the ascending aorta with the replantation of the coronaries. Based on the data of the literature and the acceptable early and late results of their own they conclude, that in case of simultaneous occurrence of aortic valve disease and aneurysm of the ascending aorta the Bentalll procedure is the method of choice.
在1984年7月1日至1989年6月30日期间进行的318例主动脉瓣置换手术中，发现17例升主动脉瘤。其中7例因动脉瘤大小需要使用人工血管。5例采用Bentall手术：主动脉瓣置换联合升主动脉人工血管及冠状动脉再植。基于文献数据和自身可接受的早期及晚期结果，他们得出结论，在主动脉瓣疾病和升主动脉瘤同时出现的情况下，Bentall手术是首选方法。
