Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To investigate the association between single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs12740374 and acute ischemic stroke in Chinese Han population.

METHODS

All subjects (778 ischemic stroke patients and 602 controls) were genotyped using ligation detection reaction (LDR). We analyzed the differences among all genotypes in two groups, as well as the association between rs12740374 and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).

RESULTS

All three genotypes (GG, GT, TT) of rs12740374 were found in both stroke and control group. After adjusting for risk factors, although there was a trend that participants with a minor allele T of rs12740374 (GT/TT) had lower LDL-C concentration, no significant association was found between rs12740374 and ischemic stroke, and also no significant association between different genotypes and LDL-C was found.

CONCLUSION

SNPs of rs12740374 was not significantly associated with ischemic stroke in the Chinese Han population.

目的

探讨单核苷酸多态性（SNP）rs12740374与中国汉族人群急性缺血性脑卒中的相关性。

方法

采用连接检测反应（LDR）对所有受试者（778例缺血性脑卒中患者和602例对照）进行基因分型。我们分析了两组中所有基因型之间的差异，以及rs12740374与低密度脂蛋白胆固醇（LDL-C）之间的相关性。

结果

在脑卒中组和对照组中均发现了rs12740374的所有三种基因型（GG、GT、TT）。在调整危险因素后，虽然有趋势表明rs12740374的次要等位基因T（GT/TT）携带者的LDL-C浓度较低，但未发现rs12740374与缺血性脑卒中之间存在显著相关性，也未发现不同基因型与LDL-C之间存在显著相关性。
