Abstract

AIMS

To examine the relationship between the expression levels of miR-1 and PIK3CA in resected non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissues and clinical characteristics and prognosis.

MATERIALS & METHODS: Levels of miR-1 and PIK3CA in cancerous and normal tissues obtained from 55 patients with NSCLC were measured by real-time PCR and western blot assays, and their associations with clinicopathological features were evaluated.

RESULTS

A total of 69.1% of the NSCLC tissue samples showed low miR-1 expression (p < 0.05) and 70.9% showed high PIK3CA expression (p < 0.05). Patients with low miR-1 expression and those with high PIK3CA expression had significantly higher incidences of lymph node metastases and postoperative recurrences within 1 year after surgery than those with moderate miR-1 expression and moderate PIK3CA expression (p < 0.05 for both).

CONCLUSION

Low expression of miR-1 and overexpression of PIK3CA in NSCLC tissues may be useful predictors of lymph node metastasis and postoperative recurrence in patients with NSCLC.

目的

检测 miR-1 和 PIK3CA 在切除的非小细胞肺癌 (NSCLC) 组织中的表达水平与临床特征和预后之间的关系。

材料与方法

通过实时 PCR 和 Western blot 检测 55 例 NSCLC 患者癌组织和正常组织中的 miR-1 和 PIK3CA 水平,并评估其与临床病理特征的相关性。

结果

共 69.1%的 NSCLC 组织样本显示 miR-1 表达较低(p<0.05),70.9%的样本显示 PIK3CA 表达较高(p<0.05)。miR-1 低表达和 PIK3CA 高表达的患者淋巴结转移和术后 1 年内复发的发生率显著高于 miR-1 中表达和 PIK3CA 中表达的患者(p<0.05)。

结论
