The increase in the use of metal-ceramic restorations and a high prevalence of porcelain chipping entails introducing an alloy which is more compatible with porcelain and causes a stronger bond between the two. This study is to compare shear bond strength of three base-metal alloys and one noble alloy with the commonly used VMK Master Porcelain.
Three different groups of base-metal alloys (Ni-cr-T3, Super Cast, and VeraBond) and one group of noble alloy (X-33) were selected. Each group consisted of 15 alloy samples. All groups went through the casting process and change from wax pattern into metal disks. The VMK Master Porcelain was then fired on each group. All the specimens were put in the UTM; a shear force was loaded until a fracture occurred and the fracture force was consequently recorded. The data were analyzed by SPSS Version 16 and One-Way ANOVA was run to compare the shear strength between the groups. Furthermore, the groups were compared two-by-two by adopting Tukey test.
The findings of this study revealed shear bond strength of Ni-Cr-T3 alloy was higher than the three other alloys (94 MPa or 330 N). Super Cast alloy had the second greatest shear bond strength (80. 87Mpa or 283.87 N). Both VeraBond (69.66 MPa or 245 N) and x-33 alloys (66.53 MPa or 234 N) took the third place.
Ni-Cr-T3 with VMK Master Porcelain has the greatest shear bond strength. Therefore, employment of this low-cost alloy is recommended in metal-ceramic restorations.
金属陶瓷修复体使用量的增加以及瓷崩裂的高发生率,需要引入一种与瓷更相容且能使两者之间形成更强粘结力的合金。本研究旨在比较三种贱金属合金和一种贵金属合金与常用的VMK Master Porcelain的剪切粘结强度。
选择三组不同的贱金属合金(Ni-cr-T3、Super Cast和VeraBond)和一组贵金属合金(X-33)。每组由15个合金样本组成。所有组都经过铸造过程,从蜡型变为金属圆盘。然后在每组上烧制VMK Master Porcelain。将所有标本放入万能材料试验机中;施加剪切力直至发生断裂,并记录断裂力。数据用SPSS 16版进行分析,并进行单因素方差分析以比较各组之间的剪切强度。此外,采用Tukey检验对各组进行两两比较。
本研究结果显示,Ni-Cr-T3合金的剪切粘结强度高于其他三种合金(94 MPa或330 N)。Super Cast合金的剪切粘结强度次之(80.87Mpa或283.87 N)。VeraBond(69.66 MPa或245 N)和x-33合金(66.53 MPa或234 N)并列第三。
Ni-Cr-T3与VMK Master Porcelain具有最大的剪切粘结强度。因此,建议在金属陶瓷修复中使用这种低成本合金。
