Abstract
- Citrate binds to Fe(III)-bleomycin, removing the ferric ion from the iron-drug complex; a reaction that may be of physiological significance. 2. Low concentrations of citrate markedly enhance the rate of iron transfer from Fe(III)-bleomycin to apotransferrin; an iron binding plasma protein.
