Specimens of the genus Orobdella Oka, 1895 from Kunashir Island, the Kuril Islands, are identified as Orobdellakawakatsuorum Richardson, 1975. Mitochondrial tRNA(Leu) and ND1 data confirm the species identification of the Kunashir specimens. This is the first record of the genus Orobdella from the Kuril Islands.
1895年奥卡氏（Oka）定义的蛭形蚓属（Orobdella）标本，采集自千岛群岛的国后岛，经鉴定为1975年理查森（Richardson）定义的川胜氏蛭形蚓（Orobdellakawakatsuorum）。线粒体tRNA（Leu）和ND1数据证实了国后岛标本的物种鉴定结果。这是蛭形蚓属在千岛群岛的首次记录。
