Histopathological investigations were done in 72 cases of periapical granulomas and 9 cases of periapical cysts demonstrating that both granulomas and cysts were composed of granulation tissue varying in maturity. Immunohistochemical studies by the peroxidase method PAP showed the presence of light chains (kappa and lambda) and heavy chains (IgA, IgM, IgG, IgE). In the chronic inflammatory infiltrates of granulomas and cysts plasma cells with IgG prevailed. These observations suggest that specific immune reactions participate in the pathological mechanism of chronic periapical inflammatory processes.
对72例根尖肉芽肿和9例根尖囊肿进行了组织病理学研究,结果表明肉芽肿和囊肿均由成熟程度不同的肉芽组织组成。采用过氧化物酶抗过氧化物酶法(PAP)进行免疫组织化学研究显示存在轻链(κ链和λ链)和重链(IgA、IgM、IgG、IgE)。在肉芽肿和囊肿的慢性炎性浸润中,以IgG为主的浆细胞占优势。这些观察结果提示特异性免疫反应参与了慢性根尖周炎症过程的病理机制。
