Retinal structural changes in a case of spontaneous resolution of vitreomacular traction (VMT) syndrome were followed by means of multimodal retinal imaging approach.
Confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (cSLO) including digital infrared and blue reflectance (BR) imaging and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) were performed in a young man with VMT syndrome.
At the time of diagnosis, multimodal retinal imaging documented outer retina abnormalities linked to VMT. At 1 month follow-up visit, improvement of best-corrected visual acuity and resolution of metamorphopsia were accompanied by documentation of VMT resolution and outer retina restoration.
Both cSLO and SD-OCT imaging, particularly BR and en face OCT adapted to the outer plexiform layer contour, allowed to depict outer retina changes in the course of VMT resolution. A strict correlation between topographic BR images and en face OCT scans was evident.

在诊断时,多模态视网膜成像记录了与VMT相关的外层视网膜异常。在1个月的随访中,最佳矫正视力的改善和视物变形的消退伴随着VMT的消退和外层视网膜的恢复。
cSLO和SD-OCT成像,特别是适应外丛状层轮廓的BR和正面OCT,能够描绘VMT消退过程中的外层视网膜变化。地形BR图像与正面OCT扫描之间存在明显的严格相关性。
