Infundibullotomy or the method of endoscopic choledochoduodenostomy is an alternative to surgical bilio-digestive anastomosis for common bile duct obstructions due to impacted stone in the ampulla de Vater when occasionally standard endoscopic sphincterotomy was unsuccessful.
