Abstract

Monodisperse, water-dispersible Co3O4 quantum dots with sizes of around 4.5 nm are prepared through a simple solution method. The resultant cobalt oxide quantum dots exhibit excellent visible-light-driven oxygen evolution activities in the Ru(bpy)3-persulfate system under mild pH conditions.
