Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To observe the effect of manual acupuncture stimulation of "Baihui" (GV 20), etc. on serum IFN- gamma and IL-4 contents in rats with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

METHODS

A total of 24 male SD rats were equally randomized into control group, model group and acupuncture group. CFS model was established by bounding and forced swimming in cold water once daily for 14 days. Rats in the acupuncture group were treated by manual acupuncture stimulation of bilateral "Zusanli" (ST 36), "Baihui" (GV 20), and "Guanyuan" (CV 4), once daily for 14 days. Serum IFN-gamma and IL-4 contents were detected by ELISA.

RESULTS

Compared with the control group, the contention of serum IFN-gamma and ratio of IFN-gamma/IL-4 were significant decreased in the model group (P<0.01). While in comparison with the model group, the contention of IFN-gamma and ratio of IFN-gamma/IL-4 were obviously increased in the acupuncture group (P<0.05). No significant differences were found among the three groups in serum IL-4 levels (P>0.05).

CONCLUSION

Manual acupuncture can inhibit CFS induced reduction of serum IFN-gamma level and the ratio of IFN-gamma/IL-4 in CFS rats, suggesting a favorable adjustment of acupuncture intervention for CFS by balancing the ratio of IFN-gamma/IL-4.

目的

观察手动针刺“百会”(GV 20)等穴位对慢性疲劳综合征(CFS)大鼠血清干扰素-γ(IFN-γ)和白细胞介素-4(IL-4)含量的影响。

方法

将24只雄性SD大鼠随机均分为对照组、模型组和针刺组。通过每天束缚并强迫其在冷水中游泳14天建立CFS模型。针刺组大鼠采用手动针刺双侧“足三里”(ST 36)、“百会”(GV 20)和“关元”(CV 4),每天1次,共1次。采用酶联免疫吸附测定法(ELISA)检测血清IFN-γ和IL-4含量。

结果

与对照组比较,模型组大鼠血清IFN-γ含量及IFN-γ/IL-4比值显著降低(P<0.01)。与模型组比较,针刺组大鼠IFN-γ含量及IFN-γ/IL-4比值明显升高(P<0.05)。三组大鼠血清IL-4水平比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。

结论

手动针刺可抑制CFS大鼠血清IFN-γ水平降低及IFN-γ/IL-4比值降低,提示针刺干预可通过平衡IFN-γ/IL-4比值对CFS进行良好调节。
