Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To compare the maternal and perinatal outcomes of twin pregnancies conceived by in vitro fertilization (IVF) with outcomes of spontaneous twin pregnancies.

METHODS

A retrospective analysis was conducted between January 2010 and April 2014 to investigate the maternal age, gestation length, modes of delivery, pregnancy complications and neonatal physical development, birth defects and perinatal diseases in 106 IVF-assisted twin pregnancies (IVF group) and 256 spontaneous twin pregnancies (control group).

RESULTS

The mothers in the IVF group were significantly older than those in the control group (32±4 years vs 28±4 years, P<0.05). The incidence rates of gestational hypertension and gestational diabetes in the IVF group were significantly higher than in the control group (P<0.05). No significant differences were observed for neonatal physical development, the incidence of birth defects, and the incidence and mortality of perinatal diseases (P>0.05).

CONCLUSIONS

Twins conceived by IVF have similar outcomes as spontaneously conceived twins in the perinatal period. However, special attention is needed to monitor the levels of blood pressure and blood glucose for pregnant women with twins conceived by IVF during prenatal checkups.

比较体外受精(IVF)双胎妊娠与自然双胎妊娠的孕产妇及围产期结局。

方法

对2010年1月至2014年4月期间的106例IVF辅助双胎妊娠(IVF组)和256例自然双胎妊娠(对照组)进行回顾性分析,调查孕产妇年龄、妊娠时长、分娩方式、妊娠并发症以及新生儿身体发育、出生缺陷和围产期疾病情况。

结果

IVF组母亲年龄显著大于对照组(32±4岁 vs 28±4岁,P<0.05)。IVF组妊娠期高血压和妊娠期糖尿病的发生率显著高于对照组(P<0.05)。在新生儿身体发育、出生缺陷发生率以及围产期疾病的发生率和死亡率方面未观察到显著差异(P>0.05)。

结论

IVF双胎妊娠在围产期结局与自然双胎妊娠相似。然而,对于接受IVF的双胎妊娠孕妇,产前检查时需要特别关注其血压和血糖水平。
