Dysregulation of NOTCH signaling contributes to the development of colorectal cancer, but how this pathway regulates metastasis has so far remained unclear. Sonoshita and colleagues identified a novel NOTCH-driven metastasis pathway that is amenable to therapeutic intervention and generated a companion diagnostic tool that allows analysis of pathway activity in human tumor tissue sections.
