The current study examined factors related to nursing students' intention to work in geriatrics upon graduation. A cross-sectional, descriptive design was used. A random sample of 200 nursing students completed a questionnaire based on the Theory of Planned Behavior and Kogan's Attitudes Toward Old People Scale. Participants expressed low intention to work in geriatrics upon graduation. Results of a multiple linear regression indicated that students' attitudes toward working in geriatrics and normative and control beliefs were found to be predictors of this intention. Additionally, male and religious students were more inclined to work in geriatrics. The current study indicated that nursing students' attitudes toward working in geriatrics were significantly predictive of their intention to work in this field upon graduation.
