[The retained testicle: our experience].

In our experience the undescended testis has an occurrence rate of 3-4% on the total of males born. The rate decreases to 0.3% when the occurrence is observed on males aged 1 year. The first step of treatment is hormonal followed by a surgical second step in case of failure. The Author stresses the need of the treatment as early as possible to prevent the damage of both exocrine and endocrine testicular functionality.
