Von Willebrand factor (vWF) is a mediator that increases endotoxemic medium like in cirrhosis. In this study we evaluated the association of serum VWF antigen (Ag) level with the stage of cirrhosis (according to Child-Pugh classification).
We included 82 cirrhotic patients (Female/Male (F/M): 26/56) and 86 healthy subjects (F/M: 44/42) in the study. Ages of the both groups of patients were not different (P= 0.095). We excluded possible other reasons that may cause VWF level increase. Diagnosis of cirrhosis was made on the basis of biopsy in 7 patients and with clinical and laboratory parameters in 75 patients. VWF Ag level was determined by immunoturbidimetric test. The stage of cirrhosis was defined with Child-Pugh classification. Data were analysed by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 10.0 software program.
VWF Ag level was significantly higher in cirrhotic patients compared to control group (220±90 and 87±38, P<0.001, respectively). We observed significant increase of VWF Ag level with the increasing stages of cirrhosis according to Child-Pugh score (VWF Ag level for Child A-B-C 156.4±54/215±45/284.8±93, respectively; P values for Child A-B/A-C/B-C; <0.001/<0.001/0.006, respectively).
Serum VWF Ag level increases in cirrhotic patients and this is more pronounced with higher stages of cirrhosis.
血管性血友病因子(vWF)是一种介质,在肝硬化等内毒素血症介质中发挥作用。在本研究中,我们评估了血清vWF抗原(Ag)水平与肝硬化分期(根据Child-Pugh分类)之间的关联。
本研究纳入了82例肝硬化患者(女性/男性(F/M):26/56)和86例健康受试者(F/M:44/42)。两组患者的年龄无差异(P = 0.095)。我们排除了可能导致vWF水平升高的其他原因。7例患者通过活检诊断肝硬化,75例患者根据临床和实验室参数诊断。通过免疫比浊法测定vWF Ag水平。根据Child-Pugh分类定义肝硬化分期。使用社会科学统计软件包(SPSS)10.0软件程序分析数据。
与对照组相比,肝硬化患者的vWF Ag水平显著更高(分别为220±90和87±38,P<0.001)。根据Child-Pugh评分,我们观察到随着肝硬化分期增加,vWF Ag水平显著升高(Child A-B-C的vWF Ag水平分别为156.4±54/215±45/284.8±93;Child A-B/A-C/B-C的P值分别为<0.001/<0.001/0.006)。
肝硬化患者血清vWF Ag水平升高,且在肝硬化晚期更为明显。
