[Cephalometric evaluation of soft tissue in orthodontic treatment planning].

The starting point of an orthodontic treatment is represented by a complete and a correct diagnosis. Therefore the Authors investigated the need of a soft tissue analysis that is related to the University of Connecticut cephalometric analysis. The authors emphasize the importance of the vertical, horizontal and angular index in some patients with values different from the normal values. The soft tissue and esthetic data allow to finalize the orthodontic treatment to the esthetic improvement (besides occlusal) for the patients needs.
