To determine the incidence of cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P) in Aichi prefecture, 485,085 infants born between Jan. 1, 1982, and Dec. 31, 1987, were investigated. 385 infants (0.154%) were found to have these abnormalities; approximately 1.54/1000 live births. Of these infants the number of CL, CLP, and CP was 152 (34.0%), 212 (47.4%), and 83 (18.6%), respectively, (including 1981). These data were compared with those of other prefectures in Japan. The incidence of cleft lip and/or palate in Aichi prefecture was close to the mean for the whole country.
为确定爱知县唇腭裂（CL/P）的发病率，对1982年1月1日至1987年12月31日期间出生的485,085名婴儿进行了调查。发现385名婴儿（0.154%）有这些异常情况；大约每1000例活产中有1.54例。在这些婴儿中，唇裂（CL）、唇腭裂（CLP）和腭裂（CP）的数量分别为152例（34.0%）、212例（47.4%）和83例（18.6%）（包括1981年的数据）。这些数据与日本其他县的数据进行了比较。爱知县唇腭裂的发病率接近全国平均水平。
