Abstract
This decade has witnessed the establishment of thrombolysis, the most widely available therapeutic intervention that specifically treats the direct cause of myocardial infarction and leads to biologically and clinically compelling patient outcome benefits. The next series of investigational tasks will refine issues such as patient and drug selection and optimal postlysis strategies.
