[Retroviral vectors--an effective system for transfer and expression of foreign genes in mammalian cells].

The review describes the use of retroviruses as vectors for transfer and expression of cloned genes. The advantages of various retrovirus-based vector systems are discussed in terms of comparison with other conventional methods of introduction of foreign genes into cultured cells.
