The A. veteran for its long practice and experience in the surgery of the ear, gives the following hints for the treatment of the cholesteatoma. 1. Total exenteration of the lesion. 2. Avoid and prevent the recurrences. 3. Discard foreign materials, because even giving good results at first, they end with a failure both organic and functional. 4. Spare or improve the hearing, and 5. Finally, having in mind the power of recurrence of the disease the control of the cases should be compulsory during a five year term, for removal pearls or retained secretions.
