Shortly after diagnosis of chronic myelogenous leukemia in a 38-year-old woman, an osteolytic lesion was found in the right femur. Cytology showed this to be a destructive process caused by polymorphic myeloblast. The diagnostic and therapeutic problems of this case are discussed in the light of the very rare literature references.
