[Testing of periodontal response to abutment teeth with tapered crowns or cast clasps using the Periotest instrument].

62 patients were examined on average 5.3 months after the insertion of removable partial dentures concerning changes of the periotest values of the abutment and control teeth. With help of the periotest procedure little parodontal reactions of the abutment teeth could be shown, which would not been recognized with normal clinical examination.
