[Assessment of the need for treatment of periodontal diseases by means of the Bellini system].

The authors evaluate the usefulness of a new classification system for the need for care of peridodontal diseases. The system in question has been elaborated by Bellini and is to date little known in the People's Republic of Poland. The system was tested in students of the Medical Academy and employees of an enterprise in Poznań. It was stated that Bellini's system is very suited for the examination of great population groups. It permits to appreciate in no time the periodontal condition and to determine the kind and the number of the necessary prophylactic and therapeutic measures and the time required for them.
