The most frequently encountered hand disorders in pregnancy are carpal tunnel syndrome and de Quervain's tenosynovitis. Conservative therapy should be initiated to minimize patient discomfort. Appropriate splinting is the cornerstone of treatment in pregnant women. Surgery is usually not indicated in this patient population.
