Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Aortic stenosis (AS) is the most common cause of valvular heart disease. Imaging plays a major role in the diagnosis and evaluation of AS severity.

AREAS COVERED

The present review focuses on new emerging concepts in AS by stressing the substantial value of imaging into the understanding of the complex pathophysiology and management of AS. Expert commentary: Though, standard 2D echocardiography is often diagnostic multi-modality imaging can be required in patients with doubtful results or to refine the evaluation of AS.
