Between 1983-1987 Helal's metatarsal II-IV osteotomy was performed on 135 feet because of painful splayfoot. Follow-up examinations of 93 feet 22 month post up on average showed subjectively and objectively good results in about 80% of the cases. In case of overlength of single metatarsalia we modified Helal's osteotomy by resecting a boneslice instead of performing a simple osteotomy. In order to reduce the incidence of the disturbance of wound healing and longlasting swelling we recommend a modification of post-op treatment.
1983年至1987年间，因疼痛性扁平足对135只足施行了希拉尔氏第二至第四跖骨截骨术。平均随访22个月，对93只足进行检查，主观和客观上约80%的病例结果良好。对于单个跖骨过长的情况，我们对希拉尔氏截骨术进行了改良，切除一块骨片而不是单纯进行截骨。为了降低伤口愈合障碍和长期肿胀的发生率，我们建议对术后治疗进行改良。
