Abstract
A study is presented of the frequency of newly diagnosed destructive pulmonary tuberculosis in a large industrial city in 1986. The authors analyze causes of belated detection of the disease, described the clinical features of the tuberculous process, treatment results. A comparison is made with data in retrospect for 1980 with the purpose of evaluating the epidemiologic situation in the city.
