Abstract

The content of essential oil of Panax quinquefolius from different producing area ranges from 0.04 to 0.097%. Twenty compounds were separated and identified from these essential oils by GC-MS. Chinese Panax quinquefolius is similar to imported Panax quinquefolius in the composition and content of essential oil.
